Staff is super super friendly and very welcoming. Got a upgrade of the room. That was very nice. Nice area around the pool with good atmosphere. Inside enough space to chill, eat or work. Wifi is strong. Food is really good and prices very reasonable.

The ambience and atmosphere is so serene. I always go here every year for my birthday. Religiously. The staff are friendly and Mwanase, (the GM) is the life of this place. This place Makes you feel at home. You have to visit at least ONCE!
This is great backpackers, so chilled with plenty of space to do whatever you want. There are loads of different seating and lounge areas. It peaceful and designed with the environment in mind. The food was excellent and the pool sparkling clean.
This place ️, where do I start..... First, I had an amazing time, except for the second day there was a delay in checking out and I almost missed my bus. The place has an amazing ambience, good pricing and a great serenity. And the people ; spirited, nice, outright and welcoming..... Its like there's a criteria to stay at this place. And that's nice.
It's been my second home during my stay at Kilifi for almost three years. I love the homely setting of the hotel as well as the environment conservation all over. The staff can organize boat rides for their guests and the place has a nearby beach with an excellent view of the sunset! The place is ambient for both leisure and working remotely, and the staff are professional. I have never slept here during my stay in Kilifi, but I have stated over till late night and can say that the place is secure. When I move away from Kilifi, I will definitely be comfortable sleeping at Distant Relatives Ecolodge
Stayed here with friends. The food is good. The pizza tastes great and the drinks are cold, which is not common in Kenya. In the evening a good place to chill and socialize.
Natibe giriama setting. Facing kilifi creek. The sunset view is stunning
I stayed here in an 8 bed mixed dorm between 30 Dec - 3 Jan 2021. It was an extremely busy time with lots of parties every single day. The dorm rooms had the biggest size beds (queen?) I have seen seen in any backpackers. They were also very sturdy and properly covered by mosquito nets. However, not even once did I see the housekeepers clean the floors which were extremely dusty. They only made the beds for new guests. Whilst I had been told there is no difference between booking directly and online, I found out that everyone else who booked directly paid KES 1500 per night (off peak rate is 1000), while I paid 2400 per night online. The food is expensive for a backpackers and took way too long (1.5 hours, everytime). Quality was ok. There is a kitchen if you want to cook but one of the burners was filthy (solidified food debris) and there was no microwave (or it didn't work - can't remember). The compost toilets need more special care than a normal flushing toilet, but somehow they weren't cleaned as often, despite the huge number of people because of the end of year parties. The few times I went after cleaning, I felt a little proud for using an eco-toilet. However, 80% of the time they were filthy and smelly. The compound itself is very nice and pretty, nice pool, great atmosphere, great music (don't stay here if you can't sleep through loud music or hate EDM), great vibes. The creek is about 10 minutes walk but the beach there is nothing to write home about (if you're used to good Kenyan white sandy beaches). However, you can go to Bofa beach which is a short motorbike ride away. You can still enjoy the creek, watch sunsets, go on a sunset cruise or have a drink in the nearby floating bar. Wi-Fi never worked. "Connected but no internet".
