The first Public Library in Kenya was known as the Seif Bin Salim Public Library and Free Reading Area in Mombasa and it was established in 1903. The establishment of this Library was financed by Seif Bin Salim, the son of the then "Liwali" (Arab Governor) of Mombasa " Wikipedia"
