Lindop & Co Ltd has been established since 1978 although the company's two directors, Mr Tom Lindop and Mr Steven Ghattak have collectively been involved in the Tea Trade for over 50 years. Mr Lindop worked for 10 years with M/S Brooke Bond Commodities Ltd and Mr Ghattak spent 18 years with tea trading companies based in Hamburg, Germany. The company's objective has always been to concentrate and specialise in the sourcing and marketing of teas of African origin - in particular from Central and East Africa, where the directors have historically had their main ties. In addition to being the one of the major single purchaser of private sale teas from K T D A we also comprise by far the most significant purchasers of private sale teas from Rwanda and Burundi as well as being significant operators in both Tanzania and Zimbabwe The management consists of Mr Chandri M Wijeyesekere who is known throughout the Kenya tea trade and internationally as a renowned authority on Kenyan teas. He possess many years of experience of buying at the Mombasa Tea Auctions to meet the exacting needs of customers in the UK, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Egypt, Japan, Holland and other countries.
