Beautiful scenery and surely breathtaking....it's unfortunate the stone doesn't cry anymore (pun intended) but it's still a nice place to even do a picnic...

Its a site in need of proper maintenance. There are charges by the road but no tour guide apart from the children who have taken it up and will still ask for money. No proper walk ways and you have to find your way. Lots of poop and waste. The community needs to embrace it as a site and maintain the place as well as have identified guides.. A beautiful place and wonderful history..

Visit during wet season to observe the 'crying'

The crying stone I saw rests in a serene, cool environment, surrounded with slighly thick but safe bushes. Pay ksh.100/- to the Kakamega county council officials at the signpost entrance on the right along kisumu kakamega downhil road and slide in to have a close view. The body of the human looking rock is so huge and the (head) rests on top in such an amazing scene. The place has two caves that allow crawling within to discover what lies inside being a reflection of ancient tales of Luhya customs. Visit to have a pragmatic experience of this historical site.
