Nearby is a mosque, a shell petrol station and market and primary school( the area is in kariobangi north) there is a footbridge from chesire home for the aged to the mosque on the other side of the road that is outering road-kariobangi north section near kariobangi market.

This is a very historical home for the elderly. It's run by Catholic Church. It's the home where Kenya's first cardinal Maurice Otunga chose to spend his last years before he passed on. Again it's the same home that had Kimani Margie, the oldest pupil who is in the world Guinness book of records for enrolling into primary school at the age of 84 years.
