Hippopotamus watching point was the perfect heaven in itself. I loved the serene cool environment of this place. I visited the place on a two day escapade and a scientific expedition to map the biodiversity of the gleaming and splendid lake Ol'Bolossat. I got a chance to visit the charming and iconic Thompson Falls. I felt I lived the spirit of the renown explorer Joseph Thompson. I saw the beautiful Thompson gazelles with a unique stripe on their underbellies named by Thompson himself. Above all I camped at the Kenya wildlife service station and got a chance to savour the beautiful stories about wildlife as foretold to me by the experienced game warden and the ever industrious group of rangers.
A good scene for hippopotamus view.
its the best place to be
It's wonderful to watch those hippos.
Hippos are always fun to visit, just make sure not stand near the edge and keep your eyes open. Avoid late evening visits, since the animals are more active. From our hotel next to the falls it's a 5 minute walk. Not sure if many hippos are present since we only saw a couple.
Very scenery and cool place
The river water and the lake waters join, with both maintaining their colour, one dirty the other clean
