In developing countries, e-waste is not seen as waste but as a resource. People know that by collecting e-waste, they can make money. However, special measures must be put in place to assure the safety of these collectors. East African Compliant Recycling has already provided protective equipment to all the collectors in the operational collection points in Kenya and together with other partners, we have facilitated this kind of business. Interestingly, women in Kenya are already engaged in this business which earns them some income to cater for the needs of their families.
