Nice and very wonderful place, I'm doubtful if it's functional at all

Thought i was in for a nice business class train ride across different Kenyan terrain from Mombassa to Nairobi. But however had a terrible experience with Security and police. First confiscated my cigarette lighter at entry. I questioned security as to why. Apparently they have a policy no lighters. "And that's when it all started going down hill" The rest was a flex of police and security muscle. The 2 luggage scanners I was singled out at and made to empty the contents of my suitcase well surrounded by 6 men security/police with AKs. One of the scanners I had to repeat this process 3 times. All because they thought a bottle of shower gel was suspicious. The whole process was degrading and I feared I was going to get setup. And become a banged up aboard story

The overnight train from Nairobi to Mombasa is the classic and enjoyable way to travel between these cities. Spotting big game from the Nairobi-Mombasa night train has always been one of Kenya's great travel experiences, so make sure you include the train in your itinerary.

I am born in Nairobi. My father was passenger railway driver from Nairobi to Mombasa while Woking in Kenya Railways. I remember my family we travelled by train when my father driving the 59 Class Garrett Engine personalised to him. I remember our time at Mombasa Bamburi Beach.
