Doctor Olende prescribed antibiotics for a side effect of a chronic condition. Medical boards all over the world are warning that antibiotics reduce the body's ability to fight off covid, so I decided to ignore this. When I made the appointment, I was told that consultation fee was 3,000, but apparently "the doctor sets the fee" - probably based on what she considers fit for your pocket. In return for 5,000 kshs, she took a look in my throat, told me that it looked red, prescribed unnecessary antibiotics and told me to come back in a week or 2. Follow-up visits seem to be part of the game, because the first thing the cashier asked me, was "when did she tell you to come back".
