.....woke up at 4am so we could catch the elephants at the park, got lost and eventually distracted by the crazy-amazing bunch of brothers, we finally got to Rimoi some minutes past 1Oam, after sometime in the rough road from Biretwo Center junction. We received a warm welcome from the rangers and was assigned ranger Edwin Korinyang, who guided us through the park. The roads are all weather and after rains past couple of days, it had been converted into a 'mud-pit'. We had begun the game drive by encountering the Kenyan National bird (bet none of you knew that) a "brady bunch" of baboons, polygamous impala, warring warthogs and a chilled out white croc.... We capped it off by some drift and mud drive with my girlfriend, as we attempted to find the elephants who unfortunately had already gone on their walk. We didn't manage to catch a glimpse of the elephants, but got a hint of when and where to get them next time... the watering hole, where the water bucks, impalas, zebras all gather during the dry season. Visit the Rimoi game reserve for a drive (early morning or late evening) with an option for camping at the riverside campsite.
