The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT) is a conservation charity that works to protect all wildlife and habitats in Kenya. Founded by Dame Daphne Sheldrick DBE in 1977 in memory of her late husband David Sheldrick MBE, the founding Warden of Tsavo National Park in Kenya, we have a deeply rooted family history in conservation. Best known for our pioneering work in rescuing and reintegrating over 160 orphaned infant elephants back into the wild, we work to ensure a sustainable future for all wildlife and communities. Our five main projects consist of: Orphans' Project, Mobile Veterinary Units, Anti-Poaching Teams, Saving Habitats and Community Outreach. Through our globally recognised iworry campaign, we aim to raise global awareness of the continued elephant poaching crisis and the effects this is having on the species ultimate survival. Through the campaign we hope to bring an end to the trade in ivory, legal and illegal to save elephants from extinction.
